Make Your Mark - Impressions

Tonight there was a live improv of John Coltrane's Impressions. The tune just came to me and I decided to just play live for all of the listeners out there via YouTube. This tune has always captured my attention and with good reason.

Coltrane, working off So What as the basis of this tune, was always exploring how to reach new harmonic heights. He was not only a master improviser, but also exceptional at conveying the emotion of music as well.

He took these simple two chords and made them into a virtual symphony of sound. Check out the original recording and see for yourself. Enjoy.
